In a week 1 National Fantasy Football Alliance 2021 intra-divisional showdown, the Charlotte Nighthawks squeaked by a hapless Nashville Knights team by a score of 89.76 to 87.04, behind the support of 61,725 faithful fans.
Charlotte Nighthawks were led to their 2.72 point victory by a 19.06 point effort from Sam Darnold, who got by the New York Jets defense for 279 passing yards and 1 passing TD. They also got help from a 17.40 point effort from Jamaal Williams, who snuck past the San Francisco 49ers defense for 54 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 56 receiving yards.
"We made our own breaks," Charlotte Nighthawks coach NFFA said.
Nashville Knights were helped out in a losing cause by a 22.20 point effort from Tyler Lockett, who got by the Indianapolis Colts defense for 100 receiving yards and 2 receiving TDs. With this performance, Lockett was the number 4 ranked wide receiver for week 1. They also got help from a 22.04 point effort from Kirk Cousins, who tore apart the Cincinnati Bengals defense for 351 passing yards and 2 passing TDs.

This brings the record for Charlotte Nighthawks to 1-0, and drops Nashville Knights to a record of 0-1.
Coming up in week 2, the 1-0 Memphis Force are at Nashville Knights, where Nashville Knights are an early 10.9-point favorite, while Charlotte Thunderhawks are at the 0-1 Atlanta Maulers, where Atlanta Maulers are an early 6.5-point underdog.
